For the first time we didn’t have a new city to explore at journey’s end – just a sea view and a cold beer. So we took our time leaving, wandered along the riverside some more watching Ljubljana come to life. The terraces were already buzzing in the morning Sun as the beautiful people took coffee this time, not wine and the corn venders fired up the coals for the day. We had breakfast in a nice little café set back from the water. It afforded me the surprise opportunity to stock up on Walker’s Shortbread. Whatever Croatia had in store for me I knew I would have tasty treats with my tea.
